Tulsk vs Meta Muse

Muse is Meta’s personal agent: it reaches your Mac apps, keeps working in its own cloud VM and answers from your phone. Tulsk for Mac is narrower on purpose: chat works only in the folders you share, with your approval and sandboxed commands, inside a workspace your team shares.

The verdict

Pick Tulsk if
your team wants chat that works in the project folders you share, with a card for every change, sandboxed commands, and the agents, tasks and budget of a shared workspace.
Pick Meta Muse if
you want one personal agent that reaches Mail, Calendar, Notes and your other Mac apps, keeps working with the app closed, and takes instructions from your phone or WhatsApp.
They differ most on
Muse reaches more of your Mac for one person; Tulsk reaches less of it, on purpose, and puts that work inside a team’s workspace.

Where they actually diverge

The differences that matter once you start using either tool.

More of your Mac, or less on purpose

Tulsk

Tulsk for Mac reaches only what you hand it. You share a project folder from the menu bar, and chat can list, read and search it, edit files, write new ones and run commands there. The assistant can never add a folder itself, and it does not touch Mail, Calendar, Notes or any other app.

That is a real limit. If you want an assistant that files your email or books your meetings, Tulsk for Mac is not it today.

Meta Muse

Muse reaches much more. Through macOS Automation and optional Full Disk Access it works with Files, Mail, Messages, Calendar, Notes and Reminders, and you set each app to Off, Read only, or Read and interact. On 2026-09-23 Meta announced that Muse "can now drive any app on your Mac"; TechCrunch reports the feature as early access.

Muse also keeps working in its own cloud VM when the Mac app is closed, and you can steer it from your phone or WhatsApp.

Sandboxed commands in a shared folder

Tulsk

Every command Tulsk runs on your Mac runs in a sandbox: no internet, no reach outside the shared folder, no writes to git’s own files, and nothing it started keeps running after it ends. If the sandbox cannot start, the command does not run.

Each edit, new file or command shows a card in chat with the exact change or the full command: Allow once, Always in this folder, or Deny. ⌃⌥⌘. stops every running command at once, and the pause holds until you resume.

Meta Muse

Muse asks before sensitive actions with Allow once, Allow for this task, Allow for this site, Always allow, or Deny, and per-app access levels set what it may do in each app. Deleted files go to the Trash.

Meta has not published how Muse contains commands on the Mac, or how its new computer use is approved.

"Always" that knows what chat has read

Tulsk

An "Always in this folder" choice stops applying once a conversation has read the web, email or another agent’s reply. From then on, every edit or command in that conversation asks first. A new conversation starts clean.

Mac actions also work only from the Tulsk for Mac window you signed in with, never from a browser or another session, and Settings → Devices revokes any Mac at once.

Meta Muse

Muse is built to be reached from anywhere: the cloud VM, your phone and WhatsApp all drive the same agent. That is the convenience its design is for. Meta’s help pages do not describe how approvals change after Muse reads outside content.

A company workspace, not one person’s agent

Tulsk

Tulsk is a workspace for a team. Named agents each have their own tools and connection grants, writes to connected apps wait for approval unless the grant allows them, and work lives in projects, tasks, comments and schedules. Slack, Telegram and WhatsApp channels run every turn as a named teammate. One plan covers the workspace, with no seats.

Mac actions today are Workspace Chat and quick chat only. Agents running tasks and schedules cannot act on your Mac yet.

Meta Muse

Muse is a personal agent. As of September 2026, Meta had not announced a team, business or admin offering for it.

The two overlap less than it seems: Muse works in your personal Mac apps, while Tulsk for Mac works only in the folders you share. A team can use Tulsk as its shared workspace without giving up a personal assistant.
